It also features a 28cm dual zone on the right hand side of the hob which will accommodate larger pans, yet will only use the optimum energy whatever the size of pan. Each independently controlled zone has 12 precise power levels including a boost control, and all benefit from a useful 99-minute timer.
Because heat is instantaneous and the energy is directed into the pan, cooking with this five-zone induction hob is almost twice the speed of gas. As food cooks faster, less energy is used thus making the hob more energy efficient than any other type of hob with up to 90% energy efficiency. Induction is the most controllable type of hob available. Power can be changed between simmer, seal or boil at the single touch of the controls. At the lowest level, chocolate will melt directly in the pan without requiring a bain-marie.

Hazard: The slow cooker’s control panel can overheat and melt, posing a fire hazard.
Incidents/Injuries: Sensio has received 60 reports of the control panels of the slow cookers smoking, melting and sparking and three reports of panels catching fire. Fourteen incidents resulted in minor damage to countertops. No injuries have been reported.
Description: This recall involves the Bella Kitchen 5-quart programmable slow cookers. Only slow cookers with model number WJ-5000DE and date codes 0907 or 0909 are included in this recall. The slow cookers are black and “Bella Kitchen” is marked on the control panel. The model number and the four-digit date code are printed on a label on the underside.
Sold exclusively at: Kohl’s Department stores from July 2009 through December 2009 for between $20 and $40.

Rangemaster finally decided to fill the gap between its 90cm and 110cm wide range cookers. The new 100cm wide ranges, Professional+ and Classic Deluxe are now available with the same sleek styling and impressive performances as the 90cm and 110cm wide models. Currently, both cookers come in dual fuel configuration only. Professional+ can be ordered in Gloss Black, Cream, Cranberry and Stainless Steel, whereas Classic Deluxe is offered in Rose Taupe, Matt Black, Latte, Cream and Cranberry.
The Professional+ shown above in Stainless finish features the new tall cavity oven with an incredible 81-litre total capacity, which is more than 50% larger than that of your regular 90cm wide range cooker. The five-burner range top redesigned to maximise space and work with a variety of pan sizes, now has a 1.0 kW, 3.0 kW, 3.5 kW wok and two 1.7 kW burners.

Foster ceramic glass Vitroline hobs feature high-efficiency high-light halogen plates that are very quick to heat up. The 9 power delivery levels make the hobs extremely versatile to use and provide constant temperatures for delicate cooking operations. Their multiple heating elements with 2 and 3 levels get the most out of the available space and can be used to adapt the zone to the diameter of the saucepan. Hazard: When the temperature setting is in “low,” the smoker’s hose/valve/regulator (HVR) assembly does not allow sufficient gas to flow, causing the flame to extinguish. Gas continues to flow and build up inside the smoker. If the smoker is reignited the build-up of propane gas can cause an explosion that bursts the smoker’s door open, posing an injury hazard.
Incidents/Injuries: The company has received five reports of doors bursting open and hitting consumers. Injuries reported include burns to face and head, head concussion and cuts.
Description: This recall involves the Char-Broil vertical gas smokers with model number 07701413. The model number is printed on a metal tag located on the right rear leg of the smoker. The smoker measures 21.5″ x 19.5″ x 45.5″ and weighs 75 pounds. A “G” inside a triangle is printed on the regulator (see photo).
Sold at: Walmart and various other retailers nationwide from March 2008 through June 2010 for about $140.
